Art of Battle - Lesson 1

2019-09-20

An epic battle is not defined by defeating the enemy by a huge amount of troops, but beating him by using a perfect formation.

In the series of lessons: Art of Battle, we will introduce the specific features of different troops, the skill of march formation, and even the Golden Formula which will help you to be a real master of battle!

Lesson 1: Troops and Attributes

There are 4 troops in Avalon: Infantry, Cavalry, Bowmen and Siege. Every troop has 2 branches:

1. The Infantry is divided into Warriors and Spearmen. The Warriors have higher defense against Archers, while Spearmen have higher defense against Light Cavalry. They are all defensive troops.

2. The Cavalry is divided into Light Cavalry and Heavy Cavalry. The Light Cavalry can directly attack the enemy Bowmen, while the Heavy Cavalry can cause higher damage to the enemy Warriors.

3. The Bowmen are divided into Archers and Crossbowmen. The Archers can directly attack the enemy Cavalry, and Crossbowmen can cause higher damage to the enemy Spearmen.

4. The Siege is divided into Trebuchet and Towers. The Trebuchet can directly attack enemy traps, while Towers can absorb trap attacks and protect your soldiers.

Mastering the features of different troops will help you make a better formation.

Question after Lesson 1: In the case of limited resources and upgrading items, which troop should be upgraded first in order to get the most benefit?

The answer will be revealed in Lesson 2.
